Champlain Water District (CWD) is a regional municipal organization chartered by the Vermont Legislature in 1971. CWD presently supplies drinking water and fire protection to the following (12) municipal water systems: South Burlington, Shelburne, Williston, Essex, Essex Junction, Village of Jericho, Winooski, Milton, Colchester Fire District #1, Colchester Fire District #3, Colchester Town, and the Mallets Bay Water Company since 1973.
